Rimage Corporation [NSDQ: Rimg] will showcase
today, at Replitech, the newest and most advanced product in its
line of CD-R/DVD-R automated publishing systems. Boasting industry-leading
throughput and massive volume capability, the system is available
this Fall through Rimage's distribution channels.
The Rimage producer Prostar allows users to create up to thirty-five
unique CDs every ten minutes in an unattended environment, offers
a 500-CD capacity for true "lights-out", high-volume
production, supports up to eight 12X CD-R recorders, and uses
Rimage's Perfect Imageâ producer Software Suite to automate
the process seamlessly.
The system was designed with input from major
customers, who remained in contact with Rimage throughout the
development process.
"Our past successes in the CD-R market have taught us a great
deal about the direction our customers would like to see publishing
systems go," said David Suden, chief technology officer for
Rimage. "We've taken that experience, added our customers'
invaluable input, and created the most impressive publishing system
to date."
The Prostar uses a patented architecture to support
up to eight unique data streams for simultaneous imaging, network
downloading and recording. The system includes Rimage's Prism
printer, a full-color thermal transfer printer that is the fastest
and most cost-effective in the industry.
The Prostar also uses a dedicated processor to provide direct
network connections from the kiosk, useful in today's flourishing
"CD-R on-demand" market. Users can prioritize job production
and provide secure access to the system by authorized persons
for up to 30 individual CDs.
