El
NearStore® R200 de NetApp es un dispositivo de almacenamiento
"nearline" basado en disco que combina el potente
sistema operativo Data ONTAP con las unidades de disco
económico ATA. Esta característica de NearStore
permite ofrecer un rendimiento casi primario del almacenamiento
con unos costes cercanos a los que tiene el almacenamiento

NearStore complementa a la perfección y mejora en gran
medida los procesos de backup en cinta existentes, el archivado
y los esquemas de protección de datos al incorporar
un almacenamiento basado en disco rentable y fácil

y las librerías de cintas, en una arquitectura de tres
niveles. Asimismo, NearStore mejora la gestión y protección
de la información mediante la consolidación
de datos "nearline" de los sistemas NetApp y otros
dispositivos de almacenamiento.
El
sistema NearStore R200 tiene una escalabilidad de 8TB a 96TB
y ofrece ventajas para pequeñas y medianas empresas
(PYME) y clientes de la empresa global que desean implantar
